Case study: Victorian Family Violence Reforms
The Victorian Family Violence Reforms (FVR) are unique in Australia and an example of innovation in the public sector in dealing with a complex and multi-sectoral problem.
The FVR demonstrated public sector innovation in three main areas:
- putting women and children at the centre of service delivery;
- achieving system wide integration across agencies and service providers;
- pioneering models of leadership and governance.
The Department of Planning and Community Development, Department of Human Services, Department of Justice and Victoria Police were recognised for this achievement as the winner of the IPPA Innovation in Public Sector Award 2010 for Innovation in Service Delivery.
