Protocol

Protocol and Special Events Branch (PSE) provides strategic protocol advice and event management services to the Premier and the Government for visits and events that benefit Victoria and its people.

Its broad areas of responsibility include protecting and enhancing the dignity of the Office of the Premier; planning and implementing Diplomatic, Consular and Special Visitors' Programs; maintaining strategic relationships, and initiating and coordinating special projects and events, including ceremonial and hospitality activities.

PSE also plans and implements the Premier's overseas travel; it manages State aspects of the Australian system of honours and awards, and assists with the coordination of the Victorian Government Community Cabinet program.
