The 2009 Victorian Bushfires Royal Commission Interim Report No. 2 – Priorities for Building in Bushfire-Prone Areas was tabled in Parliament on Tuesday 24 November 2009. A VPS Innovation Action Plan was released in November 2009 to strengthen innovation in the Victorian public service. Endorsed by all Departmental Secretaries and the Chief Commissioner of Police, the Action Plan is about creating the connections, and developing the skills and culture, that will support and encourage greater innovation in the VPS. - Council for the Australian Federation 6th Meeting - 29 May 2009
The Council for the Australian Federation (CAF) held its 6th meeting on Friday 29 May 2009 in Brisbane. State and Territory Premiers and Chief Ministers were joined by Treasurers to discuss strategic issues, policy innovation and CAF projects. Following the meeting, CAF released its submission to the Henry Tax Review, the third paper in the Federalist Paper series, and three reports investigating the potential impact on States and Territories of the Commonwealth Government's proposed introduction of a Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme (CPRS). These, along with the CAF communique detailing the outcomes of the meeting, are available through the CAF website.
